In recent months we’ve seen quite a bit of change at the Freedom Centre – our hours changed to accommodate the Safe Sleep service and of course we’ve added to our team of core staff after advertising just before Christmas for three new roles at the Day Centre.

Welcome to our New Administrator and Receptionist

Sally Hart joined our team just before Christmas last year and has delighted our visitors and team with her happy and bubbly disposition. Sally looks after all of our administrative needs and covers our reception area two days a week. If you pop by on a Thursday or Friday you’re likely to get a warm welcome from Sally as the rest of the team carry on their work behind the scenes or in the Day Centre.

When Sally isn’t manning our front desk or tending to her administrative duties, she’s busy with her two children or maybe indulging her love of 80’s film and memorabilia! Sally applied for her role with us because she has a firm belief in being kind to people and helping her local community. Having Sally on our team has made things easier in the office and brightened the days of everyone who works with her.

Introducing our Financial Administrator

Rosemary Franklin joined our team around the same time as Sally to manage the financial aspects of Freedom Community Alliance’s work. Rosemary is based at the Freedom Centre, but it’s unlikely you’ll see her if you stop by as she’ll be working on our spreadsheets and keeping our accounts in order.

Rosemary has lived in North Devon for some years now having moved from the North of England some years back. When Rosemary isn’t keeping our accounts in check, she’s busy discovering a new corner of the world, or planning her next getaway. This year she’s heading off to Croatia and planning another sunshine break in September! Needless to say, Rosemary loves a bit of warm weather and joined our team at the Freedom Centre as she wanted to put her accountancy and financial skills to work helping others.

Looking to the Future

As our newest team members are getting used to their roles making a difference at Freedom, helping us to become more efficient, and create an even bigger positive impact in our local community, we’ve decided to press pause on the Take to the Treadmill fundraiser. As the Safe Sleep service comes to an end, other possible changes to how we run our services are on the cards. With all of this happening, there just aren’t enough hours in the day to carry on organising our Fundraiser. We do still plan to hold this event however, so please continue to watch this space!
